What is a life care retirement community?
Life Care is care for life. It is an arrangement by which seniors pay
an initial accommodation fee and monthly maintenance fees in exchange
for living accommodations and services in a retirement community for life.
All levels of care are provided, including acute care, physician’s and
surgeon’s services, skilled nursing care and personal care on the premises
of the retirement community, with no change in fees based on level of
care.
Fees do not increase if a resident needs medical specialists, hospitalization,
or long-term convalescent care. There is a licensed Skilled Nursing facility
at each retirement community, which allows residents to stay close to
their families and friends in the community.
The five Life Care retirement communities operated by Episcopal Senior Communities in northern California feature active, independent lifestyles
in a variety of settings with a range of housing options, activities
and services.
Each of the five Episcopal Senior Communities Life Care communities has undergone a rigorous self-evaluative
process to achieve accreditation. Our communities have earned the
prestigious industry stamp of approval from the Washington,
D.C. based Continuing Care Accreditation Commission (CCAC, the
national accrediting agency for retirement facilities.
